This page explains what information stowelabs.dev (operated by Stowe Labs, a sole-proprietorship of David Stowe) collects when you use the site, what we do with it, and how to exercise your rights over your data.
What we collect
- Information you give us directly — your email if you sign up for the newsletter, contact us, or buy a product. Your name and any details you include in messages.
- Information collected automatically — basic technical info from your browser (user agent, IP address, the page you came from). We use this for analytics and security, not for tracking you across the web.
- Cookies — used minimally: to remember your session if you log in, and to power any analytics we run. We don’t use third-party advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To deliver the products you purchase and send order confirmations.
- To answer your questions when you email us.
- To send the newsletter, only if you signed up. You can unsubscribe anytime via the link at the bottom of every email.
- To understand which pages are popular and where the site breaks (privacy-respecting analytics, no personally identifying tracking).
Who we share it with
The short list:
- Payment processors (Gumroad, Etsy, etc.) — they handle the transaction. We never see or store your full credit card number.
- Email service — to deliver newsletters and order emails.
- Hosting provider — the server that stores this site’s data.
That’s it. We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with advertisers.
Your rights
Whether or not you live somewhere with formal data-protection laws (GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California, etc.), we offer everyone the same rights:
- Access — ask us what we have about you.
- Correction — fix anything that’s wrong.
- Deletion — have us erase your data, except where we’re legally required to keep it (e.g., tax records).
- Portability — get a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Opt-out — unsubscribe from any communications at any time.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Data retention
We keep order records as long as required by tax law (typically 7 years). Newsletter subscriptions stay active until you unsubscribe. Contact-form messages we generally delete within a year unless they led to an ongoing conversation.
Children
This site is not intended for children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, post a brief notice on the site. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
